The jyotirlingas are a group of twelve highly sacred shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. These shrines are located across India, with each one having its own unique history and legend associated with it. Devotees believe that visiting all twelve of these shrines will lead to moksha, or liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
The jyotirlingas are said to be the manifestation of Lord Shiva’s Supreme Light. Each shrine is considered to be equally powerful, and there is no hierarchy among them. Devotees often undertake a pilgrimage to visit all twelve of these shrines, which is believed to bestow great spiritual benefits.
