- The temple was constructed in the year 1862. And people says that the image of Banke Bihariji installed in Shri Bank Bihari Mandir was presented to Swami Haridas by Lord Krishna and the Radhajis themselves. Swami Haridas originally worshiped this religious image under the name of Kunj-Bihari (“one who enjoys the forests (Kunj) of the city of Vrindavan”).
